Green Guard
Green guard contains Metarhizium anisopliae, an entomopathogenic fungus.When an insect comes in contact with the spores of Metarhizium anisopliae, or if spores falls on the body of the insects, spores attach with the insects
cuticle, germinate and grow inside the inside the insect body, leading to death of the insect in 3 to 5 days. Therefore, it is advised to spray at 5 to 7 days interval to control the pest. Insect cannot develop resistance to the entomopathogenic fungus.
DOSAGE: 5 to 7g per litre of water.
PEST: Thrips, hoppers, aphids, whiteflies, psylids, bugs etc crops like: gherkins, onion, capsicum, chilli, rose, mango, guava, cashew etc. Spray preferably in the morning before 10 am or evening after 4 pm for increased efficiency of fungus. Adding 20 g of jaggery powder in the above mix and leaving 24 to 48 h before
spray increases the rate of mortality of the insect.
PRECAUTIONS: It is a nonpoisonous material and ecofriendly product and safe to handle. However, avoid skin and eye contact and keep away from children and animals. Washing with soap solution is recommended if any of the human body part come in contact with the material.
Colony Forming Unit (CFU) count on selective medium should be minimum of
1x 108 per ml or gm
Biological contaminants: Pathogenic contaminants such as gram negative bacteria
Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio and such other microbials should not be present.Other microbial contaminants should not exceed 1 x 104 count per ml or per g of formulation.Chemical/botanical pesticide contaminants should not be present.
